(College of Agriculture & Natural Resources)
Concentration objectives:
To provide students with a strong foundation in basic biological sciences coupled with a broad understanding of concepts in environmental health. Course work will focus on the etiology of human disease from the standpoint of chemical, radiological and bacteriological environmental exposures via food, water, air, occupation and personal habits (i.e. tobacco). Particular emphasis is placed on cancer and reproductive risks, and epidemiological techniques designed to detect incremental risks associated with environmental exposure.
